Photographer's Notes:

I arrived in Texas on Friday the 27th, September to shoot the Austin City Limits Festival scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, but was quickly informed by my friend Travis that we had some business to take care of first....the Allman Brothers Band at the Backyard.

The Backyard is a small (5,000 max), outdoor, all general-admission venue, and with a dirt floor and endless giant-sized cans Foster's Lager being served, this place just oozes "old-school".

I took the photos about 15-20 feet from center-stage, using 800 ISO Fujicolor Press film and my 70-200mm f2.8. I don't feel that these are my best photos, because there was a lot of jostling in the general admission crowd, but I think it is a great document of the show, especially with the 3 guest guitarists, Eric Johnson, Gary Louris of the Jayhawks, and David Grisham.
